Minnesota is a respectable option for your analytics education. Explore the analytics programs in our MN listings and you’ll see undergraduate & graduate degrees from public research institutions, Catholic schools, and affordable state universities. UMN may be the most recognizable name, but there are plenty of other options.
Research & Career-Building
UMN’s Carlson School of Management is well-aware of the importance of data in business. Discover the work being done in the Analytics for Good Institute, the Institute for Research in Marketing (IRM), and the Management Information Systems Research Center (MISRC). As you might expect, UMN’s College of Science and Engineering has a strong research stake in data science & statistics. What’s more, the School of Nursing has its own Center for Nursing Informatics with an annual Nursing Knowledge: Big Data Science Conference.
If you can’t make it to Chicago or Detroit for the big-name analytics conferences, you can begin networking within the state. The Twin Cities ACM Chapter organizes an annual Colloquium on Analytics, Data Science, and Computing (CADSCOM) and Minneapolis & St. Paul are large enough to host tech meetings, including the Twin Cities Startup Week. Be sure to take a look at the events calendar run by MinneAnalytics—it’s a non-profit organization for data scientists & analytics professionals in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.
