To support its academic offerings, UM has created the Data Science Initiative (check out the industry partnerships), as well as a variety of MSBA career resources, including guest speakers from major companies. The Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) within the College of Business may also have some ideas for analytics-focused industry projects.

Networking Opportunities

Start with analytics & data science events organized by UM—the university is going to be the easiest place to find serious professionals. Montana State and Montana Tech offer data science degrees, so you can also ask if they’re hosting any workshops or training initiatives.
